Hurricane Gustav

Well I know I haven't posted in a long time and I'm not sure who might or might not still read this blog. We are evacuating New Orleans tomorrow morning. We'll be heading up to Northern Alabama to wait until Gustav passes. If we can come back, we will. If not, the plan is to head out west. Literally. We'll be heading back to California to start over at least until it's safe for us to come back. Clinton is really set on coming back to rebuild. I am honestly not. He is an electrician though so these hurricanes keep him working. Anyway, if you're still reading, please keep us in your prayers. I will try to update again in a few days and let people know if we are coming back or heading to Cali.

So obviously I'm not on vacation anymore...

Actually it's more than that. I'm back from vacation and as soon as I got back, I started a new job. And about a week after that, I started school again full time. I've never been more tired in my life!! Things are going well though. I love my job and I'm doing well in school. I will try not to stay gone too long, I owe everyone pictures!

And we're off to Disneyworld nice and early tomorrow morning!! I can't wait, we'll be staying there for the whole week! The day after we get back, I start my new job so I will try to update ASAP but I apologize if I get crazy busy and don't get a chance.

Thankful Thursday!

Ok so I'm totally copying a couple other blogs I read but I think this is such a great topic that I will follow suit. I had to think long and hard about things I'm grateful for. I mean, the obvious are family, kids, Clinton and all that. What's interesting in that though? I mean, you all know I am thankful for that. So I want to tell you something I am thankful for that you might not know. I am thankful for Pep Boys. The reason why? We bought four new tires from them near the end of February. They had a buy 3 get 1 free deal where they mail you a rebate check for the cost of the 4th. Not only were they the best deal in town anyway, but we got our rebate check last week. I was skeptical at first but yeah, I'll be shopping there again!

What a cool site! You all should checking out yearblook.com and vote for your favorite post of the day. You can also sign up with them and submit your blog so that you can be included in the coolest new website I've seen in a while. They even have a contest for the best post of the month. The writer of the post and the person who submits the post to yearblook will each receive a $50 prize. This is also a great site to check if you are looking to find the best blogs on the planet. I have found some of the most profound and some of the funniest pages just by cruising through and clicking on some of the more popular posts displayed Of course if you see one of my posts up there, be sure to stop and vote for it. I have to get a bit of self promotion in there. I have found a lot of new ideas for my blog in there as well and I think I may be incorporating a few things into this site. Definitely check them out!

Easter Pics

I forgot to post the Easter pics so here they are! Yes, I know I am mean for making them both wear the bunny ears but how many more years can I get them to do it? I did save them, we will do it again next year. They got a bit of candy in their baskets but most of it vanished before they got to eat it. Wonder where it went? Ha ha ha!

On Easter morning we took the boys to go see Horton Hears A Who. I figured we might as well take Dominic since he is usually more well mannered than Gabriel anyway. Well, wasn't I surprised. Gabriel sat through the whole movie, just chomping on his popcorn and being very good. Dominic, on the other hand, was whiney and fussy and had to be removed from the theater. After that, we took a bit of a drive and ended up at the lake to eat our lunch. We spent the afternoon and part of the evening at Clinton's grandparents house. Overall, it was a pretty good first Easter in New Orleans.
Dominic got to try his first Peep and to Clinton's disappointment, he is like me and he LOVES them!! Then again, he doesn't really turn much down. He doesn't like jellybeans though. It was hilarious watching him spit it out.
